Human Development society (H D S): what and why

                      Bangladesh is a Developing country of the third world .Most  of the people are fighting poverty, hunger, disease, natural digester, social erosion, unsteadily, ignorance and meal-nutrition. It is Impossible to any government to face such this heart problem to solve if no body comes forward conscientious people with government. Human Development society (H D S) is our little afford to solved this many problem.

Vision of HDS:

  1. Eradicating the curse of poverty and ignorance, improving health condition and lessening the sufferings from natural calamities.
  2. Socio economic development of poorest of the poor and disadvantaged people emphasizing the women and children.

Mission of HDS:

  1. To assists the poor and under privileged people with special Emphasis on woman and children towards improvement of their overall socio-economic status through providing necessary support and services.
  2. Ensure food lodging health and education facilities of orphan, distress, unwanted helpless Children.
  3. Alleviated poverty, hunger, injustices, and inequality.
  4. Enhance the life of poor and vulnerable people.

Aim of HDS:

The aim of HDS is to empower the distress and powerless people, specially Women, Children, in Socio economic emancipation of those people to lead an active and healthy life.

Objective of HDS:

                        To Implement the Vision as well as mission the followings are the objectives:

  1. Provide Education to the children and illiterate people specially women and destitute people.
  2. Provide food, lodging, cloth, and health facilities.
  3. Provide skill development training through establishing vocational training center.
  4. Provide IGA support.
  5. Maintain ecological imbalance and save biodiversity.
  6. Create self employment facilities.
  7. Provide legal aid facilities.
  8. Protect Child laborer.
  9. Provide human rights violation.
  10. Provide Advocacy, PSY, Counseling Motivation and awareness for human development and
  11. Provide preventive and curative on STD/HIV/AIDS.

Legal status:

HDS is registered with the different departments of the people’s republic of Bangladesh including NGO Affairs Bureau, Department of Social welfare, Department of Youth Development and Bangladesh Technical Education Board (Technical and Medical Department).

Community involvement is in planning and implementation of the project with particular reference to the involvement of men and women in designing, implementing, Monitoring.

The Components of communities are:

  3. Occupational group
  4. Religion group
  5. Children group
  6. Elder generation group
  7. Vulnerable group
  8. Adolescent group
  9. River effected group.

 

Management:

HDS have three parishad Council, General parisad, executive parisad, and Advisory parisad. General parisad consists of members where 3 female and 18 male, Executive committee consists 7 members. Advisory committee consists of 5 members selected by executive committee.

Governance system:

H.D.S is run by an Executive committee consisting of seven members and elected by general committee according to its constitution. The Executive committee formulates the organization and financial principal of the organization and the chief Executive on behalf of the Executive committee conducts the proper management of the organization.

 

Manpower of H.D.S:

  • General member no male 18 and female 3 total 21.
  • Full time development workers male 06 and female 02 total 8.
  • Part time staff no male 1 and female 1 total 02.
  • Local volunteer no male 22 and female 05 total 27.

H.D.S activities area:

At present H.D.S is working in Laxmipur, patuakhali and Chittagong districts including Chittagong hill tracts. In future H.D.S development programs may be extended the entire costal and hill tracts area of Bangladesh.
